Botulinum Toxin Type A
The Botulinum Toxin Type A, such as Dysport or Botox, are increasingly popular cosmetic procedures used to reduce signs of aging like lines, creases, frown lines, crow’s feet, and lines across the skin of the neck. Our faces are almost constantly in movement whether we realize it or not as we react to the world around us, react to others in conversation, or even just reacting to our own thoughts. The more our facial muscles are activated particularly in the same movements over and over, the more lines and creases begin to form permanently. Botox and Dysport are injected into these areas to stop this movement and thereby halt the development and reduce the effects already created.
Sometimes the Botulinum Toxin Type A may be administered along with other facial rejuvenation procedures like dermal fillers (to fill in areas of the face showing signs of aging due to loss of volume), or microdermabrasion.
