Hair Restoration

A few hairs left behind on a pillow or a comb are not cause for concern, but when a few hairs become many, it may be time to seek treatment for hair loss. Hair loss occurs in men and women from all walks of life. Though it is a natural part of the aging process for many, it can cause emotional distress and take a toll on your self-esteem. Fortunately, advances in medical science have produced the most effective hair restoration treatments available to date.

At Physicians Laser we utilize Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) biotechnology to stimulate the growth of hair follicles. The internal essence of your blood contains life-giving, fundamental protein growth factors which help to encourage hair growth. When these growth factors are harvested and concentrated, then injected into the scalp, they can have a powerful impact on inactive follicles that address the underlying causes of hair loss.

In conjunction with hair growth stimulation by PRP therapy, we offer Theradome caps which utilize advanced proprietary laser technology to deliver maximum energy which penetrates the scalp at a wavelength optimized for clinical hair restoration. If you’ve been fighting a receding hairline or thinning hair in Rocklin or the greater Sacramento area, visit our office for a free consultation to learn more about how we can help you attain a rich, thick, full head of hair.

What can I expect from a PRP Treatment?

PRP hair restoration is performed in-office with zero downtime. A small amount of blood will be drawn during your appointment and placed in a centrifuge. The centrifuge uses centrifugal force to separate fluids of different densities, enabling us to derive a high concentration of biological nutrient-rich cells and create autologous platelet-rich plasma. This will then be placed into a syringe and injected evenly across the treatment area. When injected back into your scalp, the potent growth factors contained in the platelet-rich plasma stimulate underperforming hair follicles to renew growth. Because platelet-rich plasma is made up of your own genetic material, the chances of adverse reactions or side effects are low. After treatment, you won’t have to wait before returning to your daily schedule.

What are the benefits of PRP Treatment?

PRP therapy can offer a number of advantages for patients struggling with hair loss or thinning hair:

  • Minimally-invasive, nonsurgical procedure
  • Performed in-office
  • No downtime after treatment
  • Quick and safe procedure with low risk for side effects
  • Natural-looking results
  • Cost effective compared to surgical hair transplantation
  • Can be combined with other hair restoration treatments

What results can I expect?

The results of PRP hair restoration therapy are not apparent right away. Improvements will appear gradually after treatment, starting with a noticeable reduction in shedding hair, followed by increased length of hair and hair regrowth. We recommend three to four treatments spaced a month apart and a follow-up treatment six months after the last procedure. A consistent treatment course will yield the best results. As with any treatment, individual results will vary.

Can I combine PRP with other treatments?

In addition to PRP hair restoration, we offer Theradome caps, an FDA-cleaned laser hair growth treatment that can be used from the comfort of your home. Theradome is a lightweight, cordless helmet designed to stimulate hair regrowth and restore cellular activity using 80 lasers calibrated to maximize safety, comfort and efficiency. With optimized energy density and a full-coverage scalp design, Theradome can enhance your hair restoration results with 20-minute treatments once per day.

Am I a good candidate for PRP?

Men and women with early signs of hair loss are more likely to be good candidates for hair restoration than those who are in later stages of hair loss. During the initial phases of the hair loss process, hair follicles are still active and benefit more from the restorative growth factors of PRP therapy. Patients in later stages of hair loss can also experience improved hair growth, but additional treatment sessions may be necessary to achieve satisfactory results. The treatment is not effective for individuals with advanced hair loss. Ideal candidates for hair restoration should be in good overall health, with no underlying skin conditions, and should have reasonable expectations of what the procedure can achieve.

Successful management of hair loss requires a skilled, balanced and personalized treatment approach for optimal outcomes.
